Can I stop attending placement once I’ve completed my hours?
No. Although there is a minimum number of hours that are required to complete the course, there is also practical assessments that need to be done. If you are able to complete your placement hours quickly, you will need to be in placement to demonstrate that you have the skills so satisfy the practical course requirements in a service based setting.
Can I complete first aid training without being a current student?
Yes, all are welcome.
Can I defer my studies if needed?
Yes, you can find further information with our student handbook. If you are enrolled, our trainer will do their best to be flexible to support you. Reach out and we can find a solution that works best for you.
Do my working hours count towards my placement hours?
Yes, of course, all working hours go towards required hours for course.
What happens if I don’t complete my unit by the due date, or my course by the end date?
You can find further information in our student handbook, under the course core unit extension. Depending on the course you are enrolled in and how long you may need to extend for, the prices can vary.
Can I change centres throughout my course?
Yes. However, we would suggest a completing the current unit of competency at the centre, before you move. It means that any work that has been completed will not need to potentially be restarted. We will explain this further as the situation arises, as some cases may be unique.
Who is a supervisor?
When you see this within your theory assessments, it is referring to your supervisor at your workplace/placement centre.
Who is an Assessor?
That would be us! One of the trainers at AELT. They are called assessor as they are able to train you in the material but also are qualified to mark your work.
